Fritz Walter Stadium
The Fritz Walter Stadium is a football stadium in the city of Kaiserslautern. It is currently the competition site of the third-league soccer team 1 FC Kaiserslautern and is also the city's conference and event venue.
It was the venue for five matches during the 2006 Football World Cup.
The stadium was given its current name on 2 November 1985 on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Fritz Walter, captain of the FC Kaiserslautern championship teams of 1951 and 1953 and honorary captain of the German national football team.
