Climbing course for advanced climbers

Have you already climbed easy via ferratas of category A-B and would like to expand your skills? If you are interested in conquering via ferratas of difficulty C-D at the castles in Manderscheid or later in alpine terrain, then our "AUFsteiger" via ferrata course is the right choice for you. Our guides will train you in the technique of climbing in an energy-saving way and how to safely master slightly overhanging passages. We will climb the "Lieser" section and prepare for the highlight of the suspension bridge (section "Niederburg") with subsequent D-pitch.

Dates: every Saturday in spring 2023
Procedure: Meet at 09.00 and welcome at the GesundLand Tourist Info in Manderscheid, equipment with climbing sets. Together we hike in approx. 20 min to the start of the "Lieser" stage at the Achtergraben.

Training: Climbing techniques on the rock, energy-saving climbing, arm and foot techniques, use of the rest loop, overhanging passages, via ferrata tour on the Lieser.

Contents:
-repetition of via ferrata set construction
- Connection of via ferrata set and sling
-long arm climbing -stepping technique
-breaks in the via ferrata
-Climbing on the steel rope/open door
-use of the latching sling

Ascent via rope bridge (stage "Niederburg") with C/D-pitch to the summit cross and back to the starting point
Return of the equipment at the GesundLand Tourist Information

Your own equipment should include (depending on the weather):
-rain jacket
-touring trousers
-gloves
-small pharmacy
-Lip and sun protection
-good sunglasses
-Touring rucksack approx. 25 litres
-Drinking bottle
-Provisions, e.g. bars, dried fruit
-Sturdy ankle-high shoes
-Optional camera/mobile phone
